ST. LOUIS – U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland will be in St. Louis Thursday.

He’ll speak at the Community Violence Intervention and Prevention Conference. The conference started Wednesday. It is the first meeting of its kind.

The justice department has invested $100 million to support community programs trying to prevent violent crime. St. Louis is one of 47 cities across the nation to receive grants.
